Leila A. McAdams, 90, of Neversink, passed away on November 28, 2025, at Garnet Health Medical Center. She was born on April 19, 1935, in Livingston Manor, New York, the daughter of Charles McAdams and Ruby Gorr.
Leila enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved watching westerns and game shows, spending time with her family, playing Pinochle and Bingo, crocheting, drawing, bird watching, and fishing. From a young age she was a dedicated and hardworking individual, often entrusted with caring for her brothers and sisters. Though she carried a tough exterior, Leila deeply loved her family and expressed that love in her own unique way.
She is survived by her daughter Penny Howe; her son Melvin "Charlie" Howe and his wife Ramona; her daughter Cindy Howe and her companion Doyle Gosney; and Harry "Tiffany" Diaz, and Tonya Johnson. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Tom Malone, Charles Howe, Christina Buckler, and Jeremy Diaz, and her great-grandchildren Emma Howe, Candence Buckler, Alexander Diaz, and Mason Malone. She is also survived by her siblings Aaron McAdams and Aquilla McAdams, and her brother-in-law Jim Atkins, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leila was predeceased by her children Rex, Ethel, and Terry; and her siblings Charles "Buck" McAdams, Rex McAdams, and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sherwood Atkins, and her pervious companion Melvin "Jake" Howe.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery.
