Halvas of Liberty, NY passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Residence, on Sunday, January 22, 2023. He was 63.He was the son of the late George Halvas and Vira Rassias, born on May 14, 1959, in Queens, NY.He grew up in Queens and later started working for Canteen as a truck driver, which he did for many years. He liked science fiction and the Yankees. If you knew him you knew he was a private person but had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone he knew and loved. He enjoyed cooking, especially Greek food.He leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother William "Bill" Halvas and his wife Elizabeth, his nieces and nephews George, Dawn, Denise, and Samantha Kelleher.Visitation will be on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 275 South Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754 from 6-9:00pm. A funeral service will be on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the funeral home at 10:00am with Father Bader officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
