Luis A. Rodriguez

Luis Rodriguez, beloved brother, musician, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2025, in Loch Sheldrake, NY. He was 66 years old.

Born on September 21, 1958, in Brooklyn, NY, Luis lived a life full of rhythm, laughter, and love. A gifted percussionist, he poured his heart into his music, performing with soul and passion that resonated with everyone who heard him play. His love for music was matched only by his appetite for life — a true foodie, Luis found joy in every meal, always eager to share a good dish.

Luis had a magnetic personality: romantic at heart, a great sense of humor, and endlessly lovable. His warmth and humor lit up every room he entered, and his presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother and bandmate, Carlos Rodriguez of Puerto Rico, as well as the many friends and extended family he found at New Hope Community. Luis’s spirit will live on through the memories, music, and love he shared so generously.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788.
