Marilyn Kanner passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026. She was born in Brooklyn N.Y. March 22, 1927. A graduate of Erasmus Hall HIgh School, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Merchandising from New York University.

In 1948 she married the love of her life Bernard and they remained devoted soulmates for 71 years.

Marilyn worked as a social worker, dedicating herself to helping others. Beyond her professional life, she had a true passion for art. She painted as a hobby and enjoyed culture and travel. She was creative which she brought to all parts of her life.

She is survived by her loving daughter Helen and son-in-law Paul Tennenbaum; her cherished grandchildren, David Tennenbaum and his wife Alicia, and Erica Tennenbaum and her husband Alex Friedman and her seven adored great-grandchildren, Olivia, Eliana, Isabella, Akiva, Rafaela, Lily and Evie.

She was predeceased by her husband Bernard and her son Phillip.

A Graveside service will be held at Ezrath Israel Cemetery on Friday February 27 at 12:00 PM

Shiva will be observed at the home of Helen and Paul Tennenbaum, 10 Shelly Drive on Saturday evening from 5:30-7:30 pm, Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 and 5:30-7:30 and Monday from 3:00-7:00.
