Martha Gershon, of Del Ray Beach, FL, formerly of Woodbourne, NY, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. She was 82.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph Gitlin and Lillian Raiten, born on March 22, 1933 in Manhattan, NY.
Martha was born in Manhattan, NY but her family moved to Sullivan County where she was raised both in Monticello and Woodbourne. On April 24, 1952 she married Murray Gershon and started their family. She was a loving mother, grand-mother, great-grand-mother, aunt, and friend to all that knew and loved her, she will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
She is survived by her daughter Donna; her son Steven; her grand-children: Jason, Julie, Joel, Keith and Jillian; great grand-children: Aubrie, Ethan, Noah, Ryan, Nathan, and Jayden; a large extended family as well as a host of friends. She is predeceased by her devoted husband Murray Gershon and her daughter Jamie.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 10:00am at Congregation B'Nai Israel Cemetery, Marsh Road, Glen Wild, NY.
