Mary Micewicz, of Thornwood, NY, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at home with her children by her side. She was 93.
She was the daughter of the late Michele Collarile and Anna (Galdo) Collarile, born on April 12, 1931 in Yonkers, NY.
Mary loved being a grandparent to Jenna and Michael. She loved to drive and be out shopping and going out to eating. She also liked going to county and state fairs as a family when we were younger and with our Dad in later years and especially liked going on Cruise Ship Vacations. Her favorite movie in the last few years was Falling for Vermont and she watched it every day. Since I can remember she did her exercises until she could no longer and liked physical therapy. She loved dogs. She loved tea, cannoli, chocolate pudding and Jello with whipped cream and maraschino cherries on top, strawberry shortcake, pizza, tilapia and ravioli.
Mary graduated from Commerce High School in Yonkers. She worked at (old) St. John’s Hospital in Yonkers she later worked as an Aide and then Secretarial position at Yonkers Public Schools until she retired.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children Annmarie Constantino and her husband Anthony and John Micewicz and his wife Maria; grandchildren Jenna and Michael. To her several nieces and nephews she was more than just an aunt. She is predeceased by her devoted husband Francis Micewicz; and her twin boys Francis and Nicholas.
She spoke to her cousin Mary and her daughter Roseann everyday almost to the end.
