IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maureen
Maxwell
March 3, 1961 – January 29, 2026
Maureen K. Maxwell, 64, passed away peacefully at home on January 29, 2026, with her devoted husband by her side.
Maureen was born on March 3, 1961, in Bohemia, New York, to the late Lawrence and Grace Conway. She grew up in Brooklyn, where her vibrant personality and love for life were evident from a young age.
For many years, Maureen worked as a paralegal, a role she took pride in. Outside of work, she embraced life with energy and joy. She loved dancing-especially to disco music-and could always be found decorating for the holidays, reading a good book, or watching one of her favorite crime shows such as Judge Judy or Blue Bloods. She enjoyed traveling, with Aruba being one of her favorite places. St. Patrick's Day held a special place in her heart, and she never missed an opportunity to watch the parade and celebrate.
Maureen had a rare gift for finding humor in difficult moments and was always the life of the party. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her beloved grandsons, who were the light of her life. She also had a special love for black Labs, particularly her favorite dog, History.
Maureen is survived by her loving husband, Jack Maxwell; her daughters, Maureen Komatz and her husband Austin - Michael, and Jacqueline Maxwell; her treasured grandsons, Joseph, Matthew, and Jacob; her sisters, Susan, Debi, and Grace; her daughter's dog, Kosmo; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws who will forever hold her memory close.
In addition to her parents, Maureen was predeceased by her brother, Kevin.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday (because she hated Mondays) February 3, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, located at 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, New York 12788. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 3:30pm with Father Bob officiating.
If you wish to send flowers in her honor, she loved lilies.
Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, for further information please call 845-434-7363.
