Mona Marie Morris, of Hurleyville, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2025. She was 89.
She was the daughter of the late Lourice Hatt and Doris Powers, born on July 24, 1936, in Bangor, Maine.
In her younger years, Mona was a proud member of the Ambulance Corps and served as a Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed bowling, playing Bingo, and was the owner of a beauty shop in Loch Sheldrake, where she loved connecting with her customers and friends. Mona was known for her famous clam chowder and homemade fudge. During her down time, she enjoyed crocheting. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.
She is survived by her sons Rodney Morris and his fiancée Sharon, Alan Morris and his wife Ginger, and her daughter Katrina Hagley; her grandchildren Sean Morris and his wife Monica, Jessica Morris, David Morris Jr., Michael Morris, and Travis Morris. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Charles Morris, her son David Morris and his wife Jackie, her son-in-law Mark Hagley, and her siblings Warren Hatt, William Hatt, Joyce Shields, and Rowena Turner.
Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 followed by interment at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery.
