Nancy Deitz, a longtime area resident, passed away at her home on Thursday February 11, 2016. She was 73. The daughter of the late Russell Decker and Geraldine Geer Decker, she was born on May 16, 1942 in Deposit, NY.
Nancy was a waitress for many years, having worked at Grossinger's Hotel in Liberty, NY and various other resorts. She was a former member of Liberty Presbyterian Church and she donated to many charities.
Survivors include her son, Joseph Pando of Cochecton, NY; daughter, Patricia VanPelt and her husband, William, of Callicoon, NY; a brother, Floyd Decker of Franklin, NY; sisters, Rita Morris of Liberty, NY, Claire Wilk and husband Jim of Carbondale, PA and Norma Nemecek and husband Gary of Homer, NY; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and fourteen nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her stepfather, Ernest Terwilliger; her husbands, Robert Pando and Carl Deitz and a sister Theta Lee.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2 - 4 and 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 RT 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY. Funeral services will be on Monday February 15 at 3 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Bethel, NY.
