Patricia Anne Reinshagen

August 12, 1933 — November 21, 2024

Patricia Anne Reinshagen of Neversink passed away on November 21, 2024, at home after a long illness. She was 91.

She grew up in a loving home in Kenoza Lake to John and Bertha Bernhardt. Her first job was working in a Boarding house right next door to her house. She has memories of ice skating on Hust Pond with her sister, Helen and best friend from next door, Betty Girrbach.

Many years later, Mom met Dad at the Liberty-Loomis Hospital: Mom was a hostess and Dad was a maintenance repairman.

Mom was 27 years old when Dad introduced her and her 2 children, Kenny and Laurie to his kids, Clifford, Joyce ad Patty.

Since Dad was also self-employed as an appliance repairman, Mom soon ended being a hostess and became an “administrator” for Dad’s business (Carl Appliances) which allowed her to stay at home and raise the children. Their whole family lived in a beautiful old house at the top of Old Loomis Road.

Mom and Dad married on November 5, 1961, and 11 months later, to the day, the family was complete with the birth of Carrie.

Mom was involved with the scouts, with Clifford, Kenny and Lauire all being in the Scouts. When not cleaning house, taking care of the kids and especially taking care of dad, Mom loved to bake. So many delicious goodies coming out of the oven. Many years later, mom and Dad joined the Claryville Reformed Church. Mom was very involved in any festivities held by the church. Especially with making food helping in the kitchen of the Church Hall. Although she wasn’t in the choir, we all remember her having a beautiful singing voice. Mom and dad belonged to a snowmobile club which they enjoyed together for a few years.

Although the kids were not all full siblings, we were all treated the same, with the same amount of love and caring.

In the spring of 2023, mom was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, which, together with debilitating arthritis, left her unable to do much on her own. Since that time, her daughters, Joyce and Carrie shared the responsibility for caring for her. They were joined in March 2024 with help from the wonderful Lorie Turner, home health nurse, who cared for her with such love and compassion. We are eternally grateful to her.

Patricia was predeceased by her loving husband, Carl Reinshagen, her parents, John and Bertha Bernhardt, her sister Helen Snedeker, her brother George Fulton, her daughter Laurie Hessinger Marrone; stepdaughter, Patty Reinshagen, granddaughter, Melody Marrone and great-grandson Beck Leon Hessinger.

Survivors include her children: Clifford Reinshagen, Joyce Decker (John Milteer), Ken Hessinger (Donna), Carrie Karsch (Will). Grandchildren: Renee Breen (Pete), Amy Decker (Vaclav), Robert Decker (Mandi), James Hessinger (Kelli), Ed Hessinger (Kelsey), Sarah Karsch, Heather Karsch, Brandon Stein, 16 great grandchildren 4 great great grandchildren and a host of friends.
