Philip DeVito

Smallwood, NY

Philip DeVito Sr., of Smallwood, NY, passed away on Monday October 12, 2015 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY at the age of 78. He was the son of the late Philip and Marie Sessa DeVito and was born on July 21, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY.

Phil was retired from Orange Regional Medical Center, where he was the Director of Engineering. He was a member of St. Peter's Church in Monticello and St. Joseph's Church in Mongaup Valley, NY; Sullivan County Conservation Club in Harris, NY; a former member of the Marlboro Yacht Club in Marlboro, NY; the Professional Engineer's Association of New York and a former Town Assessor for the Town of Hancock, Hancock, NY. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife Mary Burnside DeVito at home; three sons, Philip DeVito (Susan) of Grahamsville, NY, William DeVito (Debra) of Hurleyville, NY and Kenneth DeVito (Terri) of Woodbourne, NY; one daughter, Laurie Crimaudo and her husband Sal of Parksville, NY; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY from 2-4 and 7-9 PM today, Wednesday October 14, 2015.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 15 at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Mongaup Valley, NY. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Narrowsburg, NY.
