Raymond Cotton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 24, 2026, at the age of 90. He was born on January 26, 1936 in Orange, NJ, to Clifford and Elizabeth Cotton.

At the age of 16, Raymond moved to Livingston Manor, where he would build a life filled with family, hard work, and lasting memories. He graduated from Livingston Manor High School and later proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1963. Following his military service, Raymond worked as a carpenter, a trade that reflected his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic. He was a member of the Livingston Manor Volunteer Fire Department and an avid hunter.

Raymond had a lifelong love of the New York Yankees and rarely missed an opportunity to watch their games. He also loved sharing stories about his life and his time in the military. His stories, humor, and memories brought people together and gave his family a treasured glimpse into the life he had lived.

Raymond was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Madelyn Cotton; his sister, Doris Simmons, and her husband, Charlie; and his brother, Art Schuldt and his wife Nellie

He is survived by his children, Douglas Cotton; Dennis Cotton and his wife, Veronica; and Tracy Kline and her husband, John. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michelle (Ian), Vanessa (Ellis), Brianna (Ari), Benjamin (Dani), Anna, Quinn, and Rowan; and his great-grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Zoey, Delilah, Amari, Miley and Ella.

Raymond was loved tremendously by his family, near and far. His stories, kindness, strength, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date. Memorial donations in Ray's name can be made to the Livingston Manor Ambulance Corp.
