Richard A. McKune, of White Sulphur Springs, a retired employee of VAW of America, Inc., died Saturday, December 14, 2024, at home. He was 81.
The son of the late Edith Davenport Cannon and the late Peter McKune, he was born on July 17, 1943, in Livingston Manor, NY.
Richard served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1968.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sharon J. Klein McKune, at home; one daughter, Alicia K. McKune and her fiancé Justin Bevan of Swan Lake; one son Michael R. McKune of White Sulphur Springs and his girlfriend Cristy Terwilliger; two brothers, Peter McKune and his wife, Pearl, of Cambridge, NY, and John Ostrander and his wife, Dawn, of Livingston Manor, NY, one sister, Linda Kendal of Liberty; three grandchildren, Kayla and Haleigh Smith of Loch Sheldrake and Isabella Smith of Swan Lake and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Allen and Edward and sisters, Anna Marie McKune, Mary Lou Murray and Barbara Ostrander.
In keeping with Richard’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services.
