Richard C. Olsen, 53, of Liberty was called home on Sept. 1, 2013. He was the son of the late Clifford Vincent and Frankie Joan Romagnola Olsen and was born in Brooklyn, NY on Sept. 8, 1959.
He was a Ground Zero worker and was a member of React. He belonged to both the Bethel Vol. Amb. Corps and Woodridge Vol. Amb. Corps. He was also a CB radio enthusiast.
He was the beloved husband of Pauline Haberzettl Olsen ; loving father to Richard (RJ) Olsen Jr., Eric Olsen, Christine Olsen and stepson, Robert Dailey; devoted grandfather to Ashley Caywood, Danielle Olsen, Nathan Click, Benjamin Olsen, Bethanie Moriggia and Sapphire Olsen; and beloved brother to Julie Ann Freeman, Joan (Tiny) Tiger and husband Bruce, Lena O'Dell and husband Danny, Clifford Olsen and wife Sally, Justine Kuhn, Charlie Olsen and wife April. He is further survived by his in-laws, Mary Haberzettl, Jack Haberzettl, David Haberzettl and wife Lisa, Michael Haberzettl, Christopher Haberzettl and wife Kathy and Lynn Haberzettl.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday Sept. 10 from 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be held on Wed. Sept.11 at 3 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 24 Chestnut St. Liberty, NY.
