Rita McAuliffe

Rita McAuliffe, 88, of Livingston Manor, passed away on November 27, 2025, at Sullivan County Adult Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Donahue and Margaret Lynch, born on June 8, 1937, in Manhattan, New York.

Rita had a deep love for animals-especially dogs and cats-and shared an unbreakable bond with her beloved Chihuahua, Tiny. Her family was her greatest joy, and she took tremendous pride in her home, which she cared for lovingly. Rita created a warm, welcoming space for all who visited, always ready with a sweet treat and a kind word.

She was the keeper of family history, preserving photographs like treasures and ensuring they remained in perfect condition. Rita believed strongly in the value of showing appreciation, always reminding others of the importance of compensating people for even the smallest acts of kindness. And whenever someone planned a visit, she would playfully say, "Don't forget to bring something for Tiny."

Rita is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her sisters, all of whom will forever cherish her memory.

A burial will take place on Tuesday, December 2, at Woodbridge Memorial Garden in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
