Rodney Charles "Rusty" Brown

Rodney C. Brown "Rusty" of Woodridge passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday, April 3, 2022. He was 78.
He was the son of the late Charles and Bertha Cross Brown, born on October 27, 1943, in Monticello, NY.
Rusty proudly served our country in the United State Army. He later worked at the Woodridge Post Office before starting his 29 year career working at the Town of Fallsburg Parks and Recreation Department. He joined the Woodridge Fire Department in 1971 and has been a member ever since. He worked his way up through the ranks and became Chief, after he left, he stayed an honorary member. He was also the past president of the Town of Fallsburg Fire Chiefs' association.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Laura Brown who he loved dearly, five children Trista Houghtaling, Douglas Brown, Kenneth A. Brown, Kimberly A. Conklin, Heather N. Padua, 16 grandchildren, one brother Ronald Brown and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 10:00am - 12:00pm. A Firmatic service will be held at the funeral home at 11:30am, followed by a funeral service.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County for their care and compassion during this time.
