Ronald Lee “Ron” Mead, 73, of Livingston Manor, NY, passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2025, just one day after his 73rd birthday. He was born on January 14, 1952, in Norwich, NY, to the late Raymond W. Mead and Vernie M. Davis.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. His military service was a defining part of his life, and he carried the values of loyalty and courage with him throughout his years. Ronnie was a very giving person, if someone needed help, he was there to help.
He is survived by his children Jessica Mead, Dolly Mead and Nicole Mead; his siblings Richard Mead (Jackie), William Mead (Cathy) and Bonnie Huebsch (Sean). He is also survived by his adopted niece Tanya Dungey, her grandchildren Donald and Robert Wilson and 13 grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was predeceased by siblings Raymond Mead, Jr., Betty Newberry, Sherman VanDuser, Winnie VanDuser, Joan Gorr, Frank Mead, Sr., Darlene Mead, Sharon Egan and Madeline Mead.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at Colonial-Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM at the funeral home, with Fr. Ben Zirra officiating.
Burial will take place at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY, with full military honors.
