Rosemary E. Downs, age 78, passed away on March 3, 2026, at Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston, NY.

She was born on October 2, 1947, in Johnson City to the late John and Ella Lance.

Rosemary dedicated over 20 years of her life to working at Community General Hospital, where she retired as a Central Instrument Technician. Throughout her career, she held various positions and was known for her strong work ethic, compassion, and willingness to help others.

Above all else, she cherished her family. She loved spending time with her children, and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rosemary is survived by her loving children: Laurie Cunningham and her husband Dean; Lawrence Briggs; Terry Bailey; and Mark Hyzer. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer Roach, Anthony Roach, Kimberly Megyeri, Katlyn Cunningham, Stephanie Hyzer, Amber Hyzer, Samantha Hyzer, and Heather Brown, as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Arthur Hyzer and later Thomas Downs; as well as two brothers and two sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at 12:00 p.m. at Old Falls Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Livingston Manor Firehouse following the service.
