She was 69. She was born on October 2, 1953  to Charlie Jett and Hattie Samuel, in Darlington, SC. Rosie was one of four sisters, including her twin sister, Rosetta. Rosena moved to the Berkowitz Residence at 204 Michaels’ Court in November of 2000 when she was 47 years old. Rosena held a job with the Supported Work department, and lived at the Bernstein home before moving to her current residence on Larry’s Way. Although Rosena grew up in Brooklyn, she never lost her southern charm. She was quick to welcome you with the warmest of smiles, and a twinkle in her eye coupled with either an off-handed, yet funny, remark, or maybe a memory she had of you from many years ago. Rosie loved to travel in her younger years and had recently requested $500 for a trip to Atlantic City. Despite not feeling well in her later years, she always made sure she was stylishly dressed from head to toe, including her big sun hats, which beautifully framed her face, her neck adorned with matching necklaces, along with bracelets, and even matching slippers. Rosena brought life, vibrancy, and humor to her surroundings. Rosena is dearly missed, and fondly remembered by the many people who had the pleasure of knowing her. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2pm on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm at the funeral home.
