Shawn Anthony Kovalcik

Shawn Anthony Kovalcik, 56, of Woodridge, NY, passed away at home on June 26, 2025.
Born on March 20, 1969, in Traverse City, Michigan, Shawn was the beloved son of Joseph and Joyce (Engle) Kovalcik. He worked as a dedicated Class A driver for XPO, where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and quiet strength.
An avid outdoorsman, Shawn found joy and peace in nature. He especially loved hunting, fishing, and camping—passions he passed on to those closest to him. Whether around a campfire or in a deer stand, Shawn was most at home in the woods.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Anne Kovalcik; his mother, Joyce Kovalcik; his children, Anthony (and partner Cassandra Hadden), Christopher, Andrew, and Alexander; and his cherished granddaughter, Kathryn. He is also survived by his brother, Scott Kovalcik (and wife Malinda); two nieces; and many dear friends & family who will miss his easygoing spirit and generous heart.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 1st, at St. Mary and St. Andrew Church, Main Street, Ellenville, NY, with burial to follow at Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville.
Shawn’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
