Shirley A. Toomey of Forestburg, New York passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born June 14, 1937, Shirley worked for many years as an assistant manager at Rite Aid and was an active member of the Forestburg Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed her scratch-offs and numbers, sharing a good Italian meal, but above all, she cherished time with her family.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Toomey; her sister, Bunny Wagner; her brother, Stanley Smith; and her cherished pet, Niki.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Arthur W. Jahn (Sue), Michael J. Jahn (Melissa), and Matthew J. Jahn (Michelle); her sister, Linda Smith; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe), Makayla (Blake), Amanda (Logan), Erica (Jesse), Ryan (Julie), Shane, Kyle, and Cassidy (Austin); seven great-grandchildren; and her faithful canine companion, Peanut.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, New York 12788. A funeral service officiated by Father Bob Porpora will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery
