Solomon "King Solomon" Robinson, of Woodridge, was called home on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. He was 76.
He was the son of the late Albert Robinson and Diane Bineyard, born on December 6, 1939 in Beaufont, SC.
Solomon worked as a truck driver for O'Niel Trucking, Kesler Meat Market, Duso Foods and Town of Fallsburg Highway Dept. In his youth he enjoyed spending his free time racing cars and was a lifetime member of the National Hot Rod Association. Later on he developed the taste for the great outdoors, he liked hunting and fishing. Anyone who knew him knew that he would help out anyone in need, if he had it and you needed it, it was yours. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather he will be deeply missed.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 54 years, Barbara Jean Robinson at home; his children: Priscilla Hill of Atlanta, Lynne Johnson of Texas, Charles Robinson of Wallkill, Albert Robinson of Newburgh, Craig Robinson of Kiamesha and Christie Walker of Syracuse; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his sisters MaryLee John of New York, Agnes Washington of South Carolina and Daisy Robinson of Buffalo, NY; his uncle Joseph Linnen of South Carolina; and cousins Rev. LeRoy Mitchell and his wife Rev. Cherry Mitchell. He joins in heaven his son Solomon Robinson Jr.; and his siblings John T. Robinson, Rosalie Gooding and Odessa Washington.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 11am to 1pm at First Baptist Church, South Fallsburg, NY 12779. A funeral service will follow. Rev. LeRoy Mitchell and Rev. Cherry Mitchell officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Wild Cemetery, Glen Wild, NY.
