Terry E. Beck

Terry E. Beck, 80, of Cochecton, passed away on February 17, 2025, at Northern View Nursing Home. He was born on January 18, 1945, in Lima, Ohio, to Walter Beck and Luella Bailey.
Terry proudly served his country as an Airman in the United States Air Force, where he oversaw supplies. His commitment to service extended far beyond his military career. Terry had a strong work ethic, always looking out for others. He worked part-time as a bartender in Marina, taking great pride in caring for his customers, and their boats.
A gifted horse trainer, Terry was known for his extraordinary ability to rehabilitate horses. His patience and skill in working with animals were unparalleled, and he devoted much of his life to helping them. Terry was also an active member of his church and volunteered regularly at the local food pantry, embodying a spirit of generosity and service to others.
In 2015, Terry experienced a stroke, but his resilience and determination were unmatched. Despite the challenges, he fought tirelessly to recover, showing strength and perseverance throughout his journey. While he always sought to maintain his independence, Terry was also willing to accept help when needed, always with a quiet, underlying humility. Beneath his stoic exterior, he was a kind and caring soul, always thinking of ways to help others. His stubbornness was paired with a tender heart, and anyone who knew him could not help but love him.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Sharon L. Beck, who was the love of his life. Together, they shared many years of happiness, and his love for her was unwavering.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Beck and Luella Bailey.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025, at the White Lake Reformed Presbyterian Church, from 1:00pm-2:00pm. A funeral service will begin at the church at 2:00pm with Pastor David Coon officiating.
