Theresa A. Bear, a longtime area resident, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Catskill Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 59.

Theresa was the daughter of the late Adam and Florence (Owczarczak) Sokolowski and was born on June 4, 1954 in Buffalo, NY. She was a legal secretary.

Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Bear of Liberty and her son, Kevin Bear of Livingston Manor; her longtime companion, Jack S. Porter of Liberty; a brother, Gerald Sokolowski and a sister, Gloria Sokolowski, both of Buffalo, NY and ten grandchildren, Tiana, Jayshawn, Shakira, Kiyah, Legend, Eden, Andrea, Lorenzo, all of Liberty and Brianna and Kevin Jr., both of Livingston Manor,

Visiting hours will be on Friday Feb. 21 from 11 am to 1 pm at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery following the services.
