Thomas P.
Cypert
August 30, 1942 – April 5, 2026
Thomas P. Cypert passed away on April 5, 2026, at the age of 83.
Tom was born on August 30, 1942, to Paul and Wanda (Kocijanski) Cypert at the family homestead in Woodbourne, New York. He grew up rooted in family values and a strong work ethic that would define his life.
After completing his schooling, Tom proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country with honor. On December 5, 1964, he married the love of his life, Linda, and together they built a life centered on family, raising four children.
Tom dedicated over 50 years of hard work to Operating Engineers Local 825 before retiring. He took great pride in his career and the life he built through his dedication.
In his spare time, Tom enjoyed rebuilding tractor engines and restoring antique Model T cars. He also found great pleasure in reading, especially keeping up with the Lancaster Newspaper. Above all, Tom lived for his children-always ready to lend a hand, offer guidance, or simply be there whenever he was needed.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Linda; his children, Stephen (Wendy), Anthony (Val), Jennifer (Jim), and Jeffrey (Lisa); his cherished grandsons, Thomas Paul (Destiny) and Aiden Lee; his sister, Susan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Wanda Cypert, and his sisters, Carole and Nancy.
In accordance with Tom's wishes, a celebration of life will be held later in the year at the family's convenience.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Tom's memory.
Tom will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his generous spirit, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
