Thomas J. Slick

d. September 15, 2025

Thomas J. Slick, 86, of Glen Wild, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, at Garnet Health Medical Center. He was born on July 28, 1939, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, to the late Stanley and Sophia Slick.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army. While in the service, he was even offered the opportunity to play baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Throughout his life, he worked in many places including Grossinger’s and several other local hotels and later spent 21 years as a liquor salesman before retiring at the age of 65.

Tom was a man of many passions, but he especially loved four things: his family, tending to his yard, golfing, and betting on the ponies. He was a longtime member of the Elks and a true social butterfly who could talk to anyone. He loved traveling—first with “the boys” in his younger years, and later with his beloved wife Tammy. His favorite destination was Florida. Tom also enjoyed going out to dinner, especially at The Homestead, where he had once tended bar.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Tammy Slick whom he was with for over 32 years; his children Kevin Slick and his wife Gana, Tamela Slick, Joey Slick and his wife Moon Jenon, and Ricky Slick; his cherished grandchildren Niko and Luca. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Ruby Gold and her husband Ira; his nieces and nephews Adam Gold and his wife Courtney, Ilana Hertfield and her husband Todd, and his great-nieces and nephews Jake, Millie, and Benny. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters.

Services were held privately at the convenience of the family. A memorial celebration of Tom’s life will be held in the spring.

Arrangements were under the care of Colonial Family Funeral Home. For further information, please call 845-434-7363.
