Tinalee Marie Vandermark Smalls, 54, of Harris, NY, passed away on April 15, 2025, at Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY.
Born on June 22, 1970, in Harris, NY, Tinalee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her life was defined by her compassion and selflessness. A natural caregiver, she dedicated her life to nurturing others—both professionally and in her personal life. Whether she was working in her role as a caregiver or caring for her own children and grandchildren, Tinalee did so with unwavering love and dedication.
Family was everything to Tinalee. She loved vacationing with those closest to her, creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious meals she lovingly prepared. She was the one everyone turned to—for advice, for comfort, for guidance, or simply to feel seen and loved.
Tinalee is survived by her beloved husband, Clarence Darnell Smalls Sr.; her children, Alicia Cardona (Jayson), Dante Smalls (Genesis), and Shayla Smalls; and her cherished grandchildren, Ameliana Smalls, Dante Smalls Jr., their mother Shania Morales; Jayden Harris, and Avalee Harris. She is also survived by her mother, Lillian Vandermark; her siblings, Yvonne Vandermark, Thomas Vandermark Jr. (Trisha), William Vandermark (Danette), Eric Vandermark, and Shaunna Vandermark.
She leaves behind in-laws Troy Smalls (Jackie), Antonia Smalls-Mohamed (Yassin), and Max Watts; along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry her memory forward.
Tinalee was preceded in death by her son, Justin Smalls; her father, Thomas Vandermark Sr.; mother-in-law Evelyn Parrish and her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who now welcome her with open arms.
Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever be felt by those who had the honor of knowing her.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Apostle Raymond Younger will officiate. Burial will take place afterward at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Monticello, NY.
