With a heavy heart, the family of Virginia E. (Brown) LaVecchia announces her passing. She entered eternal life September 17, 2026.

Born to Theodore R. and Beatrice Brown on March 9, 1934, in Monticello, NY, "Ginny" was raised in Monticello and lived for most of her life in Woodbourne, with a short stay in Zephyrhills, Florida and Hoffman, North Carolina.

She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Bernard LaVecchia.

Ginny married Bernard LaVecchia on April 13, 1952. She worked in a local grocery store and then started her family with Ben in 1955. Ginny also helped care for many children of working mothers in a daycare that she lovingly pursued from her home.

Ginny is survived by her two children, Suellen Magnetico and Ralph LaVecchia, both of Loch Sheldrake, NY; four grandchildren: Kevin (Jodi) Rogers and their children, Alexa Rogers and Madison Mosier of Cochecton; Heidi (Joshua) Crane and their children, Cody Crane and Landon Crane of Skaneateles, NY; Shane LaVecchia and Dillon LaVecchia of Woodbourne, NY.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Sunset Lake Care Center and Roscoe Rehabilitation facilities for the wonderful care they gave to Ginny, as well as the staff at Garnet Health Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations in Ginny's name be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Woodbourne, NY.

Visitation will be held from Saturday, 12-1:00pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. With a funeral service staring at 1:00pm
