He was 86.He was the son of the late Royce Backman and Carrie (Simmons), born on March 27, 1937 in Beaverkill, NY.Bill was an active member of his community; he was a member of the Beaverkill Valley Fire Co., Lew Beach Rod & Gun Club as well as Cross Mountain Camp. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Carolann of 64 years, at home; daughter Susan and her husband Herb of Long Island; five grandchildren- Chrissy and her husband  Steve, Herby Jr and his wife Kristi, William, Caroline & Andy; seven great-grandchildren- Herby III, Aiden, Samantha, Christopher, Phillip, Liam and Connor; siblings Allen and his wife Ruth of Rock Hill, SC and Kathy of Summerfield, FL and several nieces and nephews.
